I started working with Lyn about five years ago with my then 25 year old Arabian gelding Haanad. I had never done dressage and was looking into helping my horse work better in the
western show ring. Lyn started us out on pole work that not only helped teach him to bend (something he had never been taught before) but also helped make his body look better than it had when I first got him 10 years earlier. After about two years of working with Haanad I knew I wanted to retire him but had no other horse to ride. Lyn asked me to start working with a young Friesian gelding named Adonis (aka Doni) that hadn’t been ridden in a while. I started working with Adonis that fall and by winter I was in love. When Doni’s owner offered to sell him to me Lyn had to talk me into it and I have never made a better decision. Lyn didn’t just find me a new horse she found me a new partner who I love more every day.
Doni and I continue to work with Lyn and it’s with her help that we scored a 69.5% on our very first test ever at a Pacific Equestrian Center Test in the fall of 2007. We are looking forward to the 2008 show season and are shooting for the Adult Amateur Championships in June. Lyn is helping us not only reach our show goals but become a better team not only in the arena but also on the trails. Thanks Lyn!

In May of 1999 Lyn assisted me in my first Friesian purchase, Hermod. She then helped me purchase another Friesian the following July. My love and passion for the breed became hers as well and in October that same year we went to the Central Mare Keuring in Leewaarden, Friesland where we also traveled to several Friesian farms and purchased two more horses, both in foal. Lyn began training my horses immediately after I purchased Hermod and continued to train all those that became part of my collection. Hermod had been in training only 3 months when he won the USDF/FHANA horse of the year award at training level and went on to compete and place in the top ten at the California State Championships showing at First and Second Levels.
Nanne aka Seth is the first horse she started for me. Her methods were very slow and methodical allowing for absolutely no holes in his basic training. Through this process Seth has developed a sound mind and great work ethic. Anyone can get on his back from the most inexperienced rider to the highest level and all will enjoy their ride.
I have seen other trainers work and the results they achieve and can honestly say that I will never have another trainer work with my horses, unless Lyn recommends them and look forward to our continued friendship and working relationship.

Lyn is first of all a fantastic teacher. She explains all of her exercises so I understand clearly why I'm practicing a movement. -- Jan Oakes
Dear Lyn,
Webber and I went to our first AQHA show this past weekend...what fun! Every event is new for him, as he has just turned three. We did halter, showmanship, jr. horse western pleasure, horsemanship (patterns!) and trail. He was his usual sweet self, and we placed high in several classes. During the warm-up on the second day of trail classes, Webber was losing focus and I could feel myself doing the same. I took a few deep breaths, then started working him through his bending and lateral work that we do in lessons. It worked for both of us! We relaxed into that familiar routine, and went on to get through a very difficult (for us) trail course. We ended up 5th and 6th in a large class. But more important, we had the tools we needed! Webber really responded to my leg, and I was so proud of his willing attitude and soft movement through the course. Couldn't ask for more, Lyn. Thanks so much for all your help!
--Jill and Webber"Word of mouth" is how I heard about Lyn. I initially chose Lyn because I was impressed with the progress I saw in one of her students.
In my very first lesson with Lyn she was able to pinpoint that the real issue between my horse and myself was timing of my aids, especially the release. All the big issues just melted away and since then we have been working on rebuilding a really solid foundation, one step at a time.
Second lesson notes included: ...I now realize that Lyn was communicating with me in the same manner she wanted me to communicate with my horse ...she exuded quiet competence which I picked up and transferred to my horse ...again we ended the lesson with a quiet, relaxed happy horse
I've come from lacking confidence to becoming the confident rider my horse needs in less than 3 months ...for me this is HUGE. Lyn has a unique gift, the ability to focus on the needs of the rider, the horse and that partnership as three separate but equal parts without loosing the whole picture. She is consistent, focused and positive.
Lyn, I thank you and my horse thanks you!
